Infographic: Mega-dairies
Mega-dairies, also known as concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs), have a significant impact on the environment. The large-scale production of milk and dairy products in these facilities contributes to water pollution, as manure and other waste products often find their way into nearby bodies of water. Additionally, the vast amounts of methane produced by the cows contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. The negative impact of mega-dairies on the environment underscores the need for sustainable and responsible farming practices.
